Issues:
Curently, the park is without clear mangement zones, which is leading to problems in a balaced management intervention. Lack of zoning is leading to potential user conflicts, such as domestic Chauri grazing and within biologically unique and fragile sites.

Since late 1994, the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) has been implementing Park People Programme (PPP) with the financial and technical support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to mitigate park-people conflict through Bufferzone development programmes. The programme advocates community based approach to biodiversity conservation. The main development objectives of the Programme are to improve socia-economic condition of the Buffer Zone communities and to contribute to bio diversity conservation in the protected areas.

A community lodge offers accommodation at gatlang. Packaged facilities of home stay offer accommodation at Briddim. Normal hotel, lodge and indiviual home stay are available in the remaining villages where meals are also offered with accommodation. Cooked with special attention on food safety, the simple yet nutritious meals are an adventure for the palate. Trained guides and porters are also availble in the villages.
