From Kathmandu you can reach Langtang by public bus, private mini-bus and coach and 4-wheel drive with driver or self drive. Journey to Dhunche from Kathmandu will generally take 6 hours under normal conditions; however the public bus which leaves early every morning at Gongabu bus station, generally takes 8 or 9 hours to reach Dhunche. It is only 118 kms to Dhunche but it’s a slow and bumpy road. During the summer monsoon period the road may be affected by landslides, particularly near Dhunche.
